Michael Augustino M.D., F.A.C.O.G., has been an established board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist in South Florida for over 30 years. He received his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and later completed his residency in Obsterics and Gynecology at the University of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Augustino has worked in various group practices throughout his career, but feels that many of them have become so impersonal, which is why he decided to open Gentle Gynecology. When asked what he does to improve the patient experience, Dr. Augustino responded with, “I feel as a dedicated OB/GYN practicioner, the relationship between patient and physician can be better established with personal care. That is of the utmost importance in regards to healthcare.”

In addition to practicing OB/GYN, Dr. Augustino has served the community as a voluntary professor and educator, lecturing engaged couples as they prepare for marriage. He has served on various company boards and credentialing committees. He has served as OB/GYN chairman at the hospital he practices at and also at a local diagnostic center.

Dr. Augustino has taken a special interest the past 13 years in counseling and treating women, men, and transgenders with bio-identical hormone pellet therapy. His practice was one of the first in his area to offer this type of treatment. After extensive research, elaborate training, and special certification, Dr. Augustino determined these natural hormone pellet replacements were safer, healthier, and had far less side effects than synthetic hormones, and deliver better results. He offers his individualized treatment, which includes custom dosing based on each patient’s needs. Dr. Augustino is the proud father of the three adult boys. When he’s not with the patients, he enjoys exercising, hiking, traveling, and spending time with his family.
